Best Places to Get Wings

VL-Wings

Sometimes you just need some great wings—and the celery and blue cheese dressing to accompany them. Here are some of the best chicken wing places in Lancaster County.

915 Café

A favorite for wings in Lancaster city, the 915 Cafe has a loyal fan base. Across the street and within spitting distance of Rumplebrewskin’s, the bars know each other—and each other’s wings—well. Especially recommended: 915’s three-chili Thai wings. Sweet and light with just the right amount of heat, the Thai wings taste like another … and another.

Mick’s All American Pub

Mount Joy, the quintessential pub-crawl town, has great wings up and down Main Street. Mick’s has built a reputation for great wings and has been a runner-up to Mosby’s (a few blocks further down the street) in LNP’s Readers’ Choice survey. The most popular wings on the menu are the amber wings, a medium wing that mixes its medium Buffalo sauce and barbecue sauce with a butter-garlic Parmesan sauce. Also try the cayenne-spiced house wings.

Mosby’s Pub

The perennial favorite in LNP’s Readers’ Choice survey of best wings, Mosby’s wings are the most expertly cooked, meatwise, around. Their Old Bay wings taste great, but the garlic and parmesan wings—made atypically with a red-sauce base—are to die for. Also good: their uber-garlicy wings. Delicious, but not date-night food.

Rumplebrewskins

This corner bar wins the prize for most varieties of wings—53—including such exotic flavors as jalapeño strawberry, tandoori and teriyaki sesame. Rumplebrewskins has an easygoing neighborhood charm. Try the wings with Dink’s sauce named after a regular customer), which combines ranch, barbecue, Caribbean jerk spices, hot sauce and brown sugar.

The Cat’s Meow

Anchored in Manheim’s rail district for more than a quarter of a century, The Cat’s Meow easily has the best-smelling wings. It’s powerful. Their garlic Parmesan wings align pretty well with traditional expectations, with a little more Parmesan than standard.
